Final Post!

Because this is my last and final post for this class, I decided to write about my favorite band, Cobra Starship. For some reason today I had "Placer Culpable" in my head, even though I haven't heard the song in a very long time. Placer Culpable is the spanish version of one of their hit songs Guilty Pleasure. The lead singer, Gabe Saporta, is from Ecuador so I guess he can pull off singing that entire thing in a different language. The Ballad Of Big Poppa And Diamond Girl from their oldest album While The City Sleeps We Rule The Streets is partially in spanish as well. Cobra Starship also did a parody type thing of I Kissed A Girl called I Kissed A Boy. They also did the same thing from Hollaback Girl by Gwen Stefani called Hollaback Boy, which is the most hilarious songs I have ever heard. I love Cobra Starship, they are my all all all time favorite even though I don't know many peolpe who appreciate them as much as I do.

Thats it for my blogging! :D

ISolated INcident

Okay, Dane Cook isn't really much of music...but he's on that leaked music site Aubrey gave me and on iTunes so thats good enough for me! There are so many people I know who HATE Dane Cook, seriously, DESPISE him. I think Cook is so hilarious. I have Vicious Circle saved on my tivo from years ago and I have watched him so many times but he doesn't fail to make me laugh. ISolated INcident is also really funny. I listened to it in my car at least twice so far, and replayed some of my favorite tracks. My favorites were "Self Assasination", "W.W.Y.D.I??", and "Vernacular". Here is the link to download it onto iTunes for freeeee! Dane Cook's sound effects I think make him so LOLable. He is by far my favorite comedian and he is in some really good movies like Dan in Real Life and Good Luck Chuck. Dan in Real Life plays him in a more serious role, but in Good Luck Chuck and My Best Friend's Girl, he is still oh so funny.

Set Your Goals!

August 8, The Culture Room, Set Your Goals, Four Year Strong, Fireworks, The Swellers, and Gravemaker. Starting this summer, SYG and FYS are co-headlining a tour that will last until the end of August. Set Your Goals' new album This Will Be The Death Of Us will be coming out on July 21! I'm excited for that. Four Year Strong is also releasing their album Explains It All on the same date! It'll be a big day for the both of them. I've only heard one Fireworks song from my friend in the car once, but I liked their sound. The other two, unfortunately, I have never heard of. But this will still be a great tour with Set Your Goals and Four Year Strong together! August 8th! Tickets on ticketmaster go on sale tomorrow, I know tonight I will be asking my parents if I'm allowed to go, it's on a Saturday night, thats a plus! Below is a Set Your Goals song and a cover done by Four Year Strong (:

Blink 182 Tour Dates Announced!

I'M SO PUMPED UP! Blink 182 finally announced their tour dates. They are coming to the Cruzan Amphitheater on September 26, 2009. A possible setlist has been announced including songs Rock Show, Feelin This, and Always. Their openers are planned to be Fall Out Boy, Panic At The Disco, The All-American Rejects, Weezer, Taking Back Sunday, Asher Roth, and Chester French. All these bands will open for different cities, it's not all at once. I want Fall Out Boy to play with them just because I haven't seen them either, that way it would be a double whammy. But even if Asher Roth ends up in West Palm, i don't care. I am just so excited for Blink to be back on tour for me to see them! Tickets go on sale May 30! And lawn tickets will only be twenty dollars, but I'm definitely getting as close as I possibly can. This is going to be greatttt. :D

Oh, and All Time Low was added to this summer's Warped Tour! <3333! YAYAYAYAYAYY.

Very Short Summer Tour

The Academy Is... is having a VERY short headlining tour with Boys Like Girls, Gym Class Heroes, and The Veronicas. When I say short...I mean so so so short it is upsetting. Only eight different venues will be blessed with TAI's presence. It sucks they aren't going on warped tour this year, but they better be going on a bigger headlining tour then this once fall comes around! Either way, warped tour is on July 25 and I would rather go to that then see two out of four bands that I like and have seen plenty of times before. The Academy Is... is probably one of my favorite bands ever, it's just really annoying to have to write ... at the end of their name and then keep typing the sentence.

Here are the tour dates if anyone just so happens to be traveling over the summer, you can catch them!

Jul 21 2009 8:00P

If It Means A Lot To You

Okay, some songs are actually REALLY difficult to find meaning. Not as much meaning as words that are words in the American Sign Language dictionary that will all come together and fit to make sense. My individual song for my project is "If It Means A Lot To You" by A Day to Remember. It is probably the HARDEST song I could choose to do. For one, the song is a duet, so I have to be two different people when I sign. Second, they sing "la la la la" a lot. Because signing something repetitively doesn't look good, I need to find meaning to la la la. Also, finding the meaning of that song is hard in general. It sounds like two different things to me. Either the singer is going on tour and is leaving his girlfriend blah blah blah. Or that he is going into the military and is leaving his girlfriend blah blah blah. The lyrics are below along with the song, is there anyone else's interpretation of this song?

Songs in Sign

So it's that time of year where my sign language class does songs. We have to pick a song with lyrics that actually mean something, then gloss them and put it in ASL word order. This is the hardest part with signing songs because you don't just sign the words, you have to sign the meaning of the song. When you gloss a song, that means that you take the lines of the songs and break it down into words that are in the ASL dictionary and sign what it means. Because sign language is very literal, signing songs is hard. Now that we are looking at music in a different way and taking the lines piece by piece, I see how meaningful some songs are and how much bullshit other songwriters come up with. Before we do our individual song, we are practicing glossing with the class with Every Day by Rascal Flatts. That song has a lot of meaning and it's really fun to sign. (:

Green Day is coming back!

Green Day has leaked a few tracks from their new album coming out on May 15th. Their new album, 21st Century Breakdown, is like a story. The album has three acts, but just from song names I can't tell what the story is supposed to be. I'm also really bad at finding leaked music so all I've heard from their new CD is "Know Your Enemy", and it's only a 90 second clip. Green Day honestly has gone down down down downhill since their older albums. I mean, I still love them because I have always been a huge Green Day fan. In eighth grade I went to their concert at the Bank Atlantic Center and my friend and I were at general admission and it was my first real concert that wasn't the Dixie Chicks or Toby Keith. Green Day's old albums like Insomniac, Nimrod, and Warning are my favorites. American Idiot was such a change from their old sound and so is 21st Century Breakdown from the sound of it. Here is the new track listing for 21st Century Breakdown :

1. Song of the Century

ACT 1 - HEROES AND CONS

2. 21st Century Breakdown
3. Know Your Enemy
4. !Viva La Gloria!
5. Before the Lobotomy
6. Christian's Inferno
7. Last Night on Earth

ACT 2 - CHARLATANS AND SAINTS

8. East Jesus Nowhere
9. Peacemaker
10. Last of the American Girls
11. Murder City
12. ?Viva La Gloria? (Little Girl)
13. Restless Heart Syndrome

ACT 3 - HORSESHOES AND HANDGRENADES

14. Horseshoes and Handgrenades
15. The Static Age
16. 21 Guns
17. American Eulogy
A. Mass Hysteria
B. Modern World
18. See The Light

All Time Low

I go through random spurts of artists I feel like listening to and aside from listening to TDWP all week long, I've been switching it up with All Time Low. I realized I haven't listened to them in a while. This pop-punk band with their beautiful (sosososobeautiful) singer Alex took the stage at the Bamboozled Road Show a little while ago. Their new single, Weightless, is available on iTunes now and their album Nothing Personal is set to come out on July 7th this summer. These boys are from Maryland and got ATL together in 2003 and the name All Time Low came from a New Found Glory song. I'm really excited for this album because they haven't released a CD since 2007, So Wrong It's Right. I'm listening to ATL while I'm writing this and I can't get over how wonderful his voice is. Oy Vey. Go buy Weightless! (:

With Roots Above and Branches Below

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA HAS A NEW ALBUM! With Roots Above and Branches Below was leaked online for their fans to download. I'm not sure if they did it themselves or what because I got the burned CD from my boyfriend who got it on Torrents. I have no idea what that is. Anyway, TDWP's album was supposed to be released May 5th. With Roots Above and Branches Below is definitely not as good as Plagues or Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord. I think they all kind of sound the same, except for Louder Then Thunder, a slower song that I've never heard come out of them. Dez Moines is my favorite from that album because it is, sorry to say, one of the only ones that sounds different than the rest. I still love TDWP and I really like this album, but I must say, their old stuff is better.

Bands and Twitter.

Really? I was looking through some bands on myspace and I saw so many of them have twitter. I DON'T UNDERSTAND TWITTER. Honestly, I don't care that Nate from Hit The Lights is sweating while driving around Georgia. I know this obsession with twitter has taken over the social world and even the business world. I now see it in the music business. I mean, I guess I understand that it gets your name out there and it lets fans know if there is any new music coming out, but I think in a way it is pointless. I think it's kinda weird that I just noticed that all these bands have twitter the week that we talked about it and my dad mentioned it to me. Creeepy!

Oh, just one more time.

TONIGHT, last show I am missing until warped tour. The Believers Never Die tour is tonight. It's alllllll the way in Pompano Beach at Pompano Beach Amphitheater. This tour's headliner is Fall Out Boy, who I have never seen because I have missed every chance to see them. Also, Cobra Starship is on the tour. They are my favorite favorite band ever in the world and I am missing them. FML? Yeah. All Time Low, Metro Station, and Hey Monday are playing as well but I've seen them all so it isn't so bad that I'm not going. Ever since FOB's new album, I haven't even listened to them as much. I don't think it sounds a bit like their old albums which I really like. I just went on Cobra Starship's myspace and I saw they have a new song called "Pete Wentz Is The Only Reason We're Famous" and it made me laugh. (for those who don't know, Wentz is the basist for FOB and he is really the "main man" of the band because everyone is obsessed with him). Anyway, I love Cobra Starship, good day!

This makes me sad.

Tonight, there is once again, ANOTHER show I am not going to. Somebody kill me, please. Tonight at Revolution the Bamboozle Road Show will be held. This show is featuring Forever The Sickest Kids, We The Kings, The Cab, Nevershoutnever!, and Mercy Mercedes. I honestly want to die. The second I saw this line up I told my parents how badly I wanted to go. Even as an early birthday present I couldn't pull it off. Forever The Sickest Kids I've seen twice before and both times were absolutely amazing. I've seen We The Kings twice and met the lead singer once and his signature is on my shoe. The Cab I have only seen once when they didn't even have their CD out and they were really good. I have talked about Nevershoutnever! in my blog before, I want to see him so badly. Once again, this would be such an amazing show...if I was going. Now I have to spend my brithday tomorrow hearing about how good it was from whoever went.

Another show

Once again, there is a show tonight that I am not attending. Set Your Goals, New Found Glory, Bayside, and Shai Hulud are playing at Revolution. I have absolutely no idea who Shai Hulud is, I haven't heard them or their name once in my life. But Set Your Goals is a really great band that is releasing a new album in July. New Found Glory is another, not really childhood, but younger days band. They released their latest album in March, I haven't listened to the entire CD yet, but from what I have listened to, they are just as good as they have always been. Bayside is pretty good as well, they covered the song Beautiful Girls by Sean Kingston on Punk Goes Pop, Vol. 2. I really want to see Set Your Goals because I missed them when they came to So Fla last year too.

Warped Tour!

Summer is somewhat on its way! That means its almost Vans Warped Tour 2009 time! The tickets went on presale yesterday and I bought mine the second I came home. The presale comes with a VIP pass to cut the signing lines for the bands. I'm so excited. This is the next show that I'm going to and I have to wait all the way or July 25. :( Unfortunately, I just got my little heart broken because I looked and DanceGavinDance and Forever The Sickest Kids aren't coming to Florida. They are two bands that were on my "must see at Warped" list. But A Day to Remember and The Devil Wears Prada are coming back and I am beyond excited to see them again. Warped Tour, for those who don't know, is an all day outside show with lots of different bands playing with signings and plenty of merch to buy. I love Warped Tour, I look forward to it every year and I make SURE that my family stays in town that weekend. Last year, we came home from Las Vegas on Friday night at one in the morning so I could go to Warped the next day. I'm really pumped, only 113 more days!

Best Night Ever

I'm SO glad we have blogs back. I went to a show last tuesday and I've been DYING to write about how amazing it was. So here goes the story of the best night ever:

Tuesday after school, my friend Stina came over and we studied as much as we could for the exams we had on Wednesday. Unfortunately for me, my only two important classes, English and Anatomy, were the next day. Once five o'clock came, we started to get ready and started to freak out in excitement. I have never been so jumpy in my entire life. My dad drove my brtoher Chance, his friend Danny, Stina, and I to The Culture Room to wait outside. The line was eons long so thank God we had friends in the front that let us cut. Once we got our wristbands and got in, we bought our merch. Emarosa played first and we were standing against a wall listening to them. Next came Sky Eats Airplane and they were so so so good. Up next was A Day to Remember. Stina and I went in the pit for them and it was insane. We got beat up, knocked down, and were sweating like we had just ran five miles in 180 degree weather. Despite the bruises I got and the fact that I couldn't move my neck for a few days, it was the best thing ever. After fifty minutes of amazingness, The Devil Wears Prada came on for another fifty minute set. We stood off to the side with Chance and Danny on this one. I love TDWP so much, I was so happy to finally see them live. We got back to my house at 12:30 and ended up in bed at 1:30 or so after showering. Stina and I both had the best sleep of our lives that night. And I even did well on the tests the next day!

That is my story. I really wish I could turn back time and do the entire thing over again. Honestly, that was the best night of my LIFE.

AND I'M SO SORRY AUBBBBERZ :(

Taste of Chaos ):

The Taste of Chaos tour is tonight. Its right now, actually. I am obviously not there and it's very disappointing. Today a lot of my friends were talking about how there were "only a few more hours until the show!" Oy vey, I really wish I was at Revolution right now. The bands at this years Taste of Chaos are Pierce the Veil, Bring Me The Horizon, Four Year Strong, Thursday, and Cancer Bats. I LOVE Pierce the Veil. I really don't like how my parents don't let me go to concerts on school nights. They tell me I won't wake up in the morning, although I went to plenty of shows last year on school nights. But it's the universal rule that if a kid goes to a show on a school night, they go to school the next morning, no complaints. They let me choose one to go to because there were five I really wanted to buy tickets for, and I chose one that is exactly a week from today. I found out later that is the night before my first and second hour exams. They let me go to that show but not this one!? Hmm...

Well, this years Taste of Chaos tour will be amazing, I already see myspace bulletins about how Pierce the Veil is setting up. Oh look, my friend is calling me from the concert right now, holding the phone up so I can listen to Pierce the Vail playing my favorite song (playing right now). I hate my life.

Fall Out Boy

The whole "Fall Out Boy has sold out, they suck now, blah blah blah" gets really annoying. I read an article on AP (alternative press) Magazine website about the band. A few months ago AP had an issue with FOB on the cover, but there were two versions. There was a Fall Out Bot Sucks version in blue with the band in make up and suits at a party. There was also a Fall Out Boy Rules version in red where it was just a photo of the band playing like they normally would. Fall Out Boy has been getting bashed ever since their album Infinity On High from old fans saying that they've sold out since their From Under The Cork Tree days. I still like FOB, their newest CD, Folie à deux, I haven't really listened to because I just don't like it. I didn't like their first CD either, but I think it's stupid to call them a sell out, they're just making music. Its their job.

Punk Goes Pop Vol. 2

Punk Goes Pop Vol. 2 was released on Tuesday. All the songs were released last week on mtv.com and my little brother's friend's brother somehow burned me the CD, so I got it to enjoy a week early! The Punk Goes series includes bands who do covers of songs of different genres. Punk Goes Pop 2's discography is listed below:

1. Alesana- "What Goes Around..." (Justin Timberlake)
2. Silverstein- "Apologize" (One Republic)
3. August Burns Red- "...Baby One More Time" (Britney Spears)
4. Mayday Parade- "When I Grow Up" (Pussycat Dolls)
5. A Day to Remember- "Over My Head (Cable Car)" (The Fray)
6. Escape the Fate- "Smooth" (Santana feat. Rob Thomas)
7. There For Tomorrow- "Ice Box" (Omarion)
8. Chiodos- "Flagpole Sitta" (Harvey Danger)
9. Bayside- "Beautiful Girls" (Sean Kingston)
10. Breathe Carolina- "See You Again" (Miley Cyrus)
11. The Cab- "Disturbia" (Rihanna)
12. A Static Lullaby- "Toxic" (Britney Spears)
13. Four Year Strong- "Love Song" (Sara Bareilles)
14. Attack Attack!- "I Kissed a Girl" (Katy Perry)

My favorites are Alesana's cover of Justin Timberlake and Mayday Parade's cover of The Pussycat Dolls (what you're listening to). All the other ones are really good too. I'm obsessed with this CD. I feel that some of these songs were made for the bands to cover. Listen to some of them on www.myspace.com/punkgoespop2

Britney Spears!

Last night was her concert with the Pussycat Dolls at the American Airlines Arena. It was so so so so so good. I had a lot of fun. The line to get in was all the way out to the middle of the streets and the arena was completely full. When you walked in, on a screen in the center of the stage was a number you can text and what you text them can show up on the screen, two of mine got on it. I found that very exciting. When the Pussycat Dolls came on, I think I found the meaning of "trashy". They performed very well, but oh boy, they can't go anywhere without their stripper poles huh. When Britney finally came out it was complete madness. There was a recording shown on a screen of a transvestite man who was introducing her for what felt like twenty minutes, building up suspense for her comeback. She opened with her single "Circus". I was happy to see that she also played her old songs, but the only thing I could think of was how this came out when I was in elementary school. When she played "Hit Me Baby One More Time", I think that was the loudest the cheering got. I really cannot get over how great that concert was. Usually I don't go to shows like this, but I had to make an exception for my childhood idol. I love Britney Spears, she'll always be amazing.

Nevershoutnever!

Christofer Drew, singer/songwriter/ guitarist/ukulelist (if that is even a word)/pianist/entire band of Nevershoutnever!, released his single "Happy" recently. Christofer Drew is only a teenager and has already come so far in his music career. Although he had to drop out of high school, his songs are on iTunes and has thousands of fans. He has accomplished a lot so far and he will keep making music for as long as he can. Nevershoutnever! will soon be on tour with We The Kings, Forever The Sickest Kids, and The Cab on the Bamboozle Road Show. They are playing at Revolution on April 15. From what I've heard from other people's opinions on Nevershoutnever!, you either hate him or love him. I love him. Christofer Drew is just an adorable kid and his voice is really soothing, it always puts me in a better mood. He is personal with his fans and always tries to respond the best he can. I really encourage everyone to listen to him, he is amazing. His myspace link is here and his youtube channel (fan channel) is here! (: <3

New Found Glory

It has been three years since we have heard anything new coming from the boys of New Found Glory. Not Without A Fight will be released on March 10 and it is promised to be a classic New Found Glory album. On March 25 they are starting off a tour with Set Your Goals, Bayside, and Verse. Like Blink-182, NFG is a band many people grew up listening to. I'm sure we all know Catalyst and My Friends Over You, my two personal favorites. Not Without A Fight is that band's sixth record since they started in 1997 in the lovely South Florida. The album was produced by Mark Hoppus of Blink-182. The hit single from this album is called Listen To Your Friends (below). Most, if not all of the album is released on their myspace (www.myspace.com/newfoundglory) for everyone to listen to.

AP Tour Sold Out

The AP (Alternative Press Magazine) Tour that will be playing at the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale is sold out. I just went on to look for tickets today and they are all gone. Bands 3OH!3, The Maine, Family Force 5, Hit The Lights, and A Rocket To The Moon are going on the road from March 20 to May 9. They are coming to Culture Room on April 19, a Sunday night. I'm really upset it's sold out, I want to see 3OH!3 really bad! But they will be touring on the Vans Warped Tour over the summer, so it's okay. I went to last year's AP Tour with All Time Low, Forever The Sickest Kids, The Rocket Summer, and other bands I don't remember because they were not as good as those three. I love going to shows, they're so fun. But it's a bummer that whoever didn't buy their tickets soon enough have to miss out this year.

Songs and Sports

When you go to the gym, or are about to play in a big game, isn't it good to listen to music that gets you pumped up and willing to work out harder? Certain songs are good for getting your blood pumping and heart working so that you will have the willpower to keep going. This weekend my brother had a hockey tournament. A guy behind the box would play music when someone would score, during a time out, and when the teams came out to warm up. On my brother's second game, the opposing team came out to "Click Click Boom" by Saliva. That song is just one of those songs that when you hear it, you do whatever you're doing at that moment better. When it was my brother's turn to come out, the guy played "You're Beautiful" by James Blunt. Really? Seriously? The team came out looking so confused at why he would play that song when they are supposed to be warming up and getting their adrenaline going. Although they did have fun lip singing it to each other and acting dumb, they ended up losing. They all blamed it on the music that gave them a bad vibe. Does music affect the way you work out?

Lily Allen

British singer Lily Allen has a new CD! It's Not Me, It's You hit number one on the charts in the United Kingdom and number five in the United States on iTunes. Her old album, Alright, Still, was also her first album. Her songs are funny with strange music videos like "Alfie". Her first single for It's Not Me, It's You is "The Fear" . Lily writes her own lyrics and doesn't care about much publicity. She didn't make a big deal when this album came out in the United States on February 10. She will hopefully be going on tour again soon and hopefully be traveling the States as well.

Brown Beats Down

We all heard about Chris Brown and Rihanna's "incident" last week before the Grammys. Brown had beat Rihanna and left her in the limo with bruises on her body. I've always hated Chris Brown, I think he is really obnoxious and thinks way too much of himself. He's not all that good looking and his voice is really whiney. I don't understand why everyone is obsessed with him, he's like twelve years old. Rihanna could do a lot better than that mini Michael Jackson anyway. Either way, Rihanna suffered from a broken jaw, bruises, and some bite marks. It is still unknown what caused the fight, but I hope he gets arrested.

Blink is Back!

Blink-182, the band everyone grew up to and loved forever, finally reunited. At the 2009 Grammys, they presented an award together. If the fact that they were all friends again wasn't enough, the band announced that they were having a comeback. I died a little on the inside when they announced that. I was in shock. It was probably the best news I've heard in a while. Blink-182's music cannot be surpassed. They are planning another world tour and hitting the studio for a new record soon. This is the seventeenth year of their legacy and this generation will never forget about them. To hear their message to the world about their comeback, visit their website

If You Seek....Controversy

Britney Spears' song If You Seek Amy started a lot of controversy. Off her new album, Circus, If You Seek Amy is a song that has a double meaning. This video of Chris Crocker (nobody can say it better than him...her?) states how the song can either be about a girl named Amy at a club or about something more suggestive. Every song on the radio nowadays has an undertone that isn't appropriate for the radio. Lollipop, for example, has an obvious connotation that isn't about just enjoying a candy. The media is all over Britney for this song, but other artists can release suggestive songs without a second glance. Why Britney? Share whose side you're on, Britney or the public.

Bemis x2

Max Bemis, vocalist of Say Anything, just finished working on another project with the band Two Tongues. Two Tongues' first CD was just released recently. The band is a collaboration with Saves The Day's Chris Conley. Max says that Chris has been his favorite songwriter since he was fifteen years old, so Two Tongues is a real dream come true for him. Chris has admired Max's musical talent since the start of Say Anything, and he says on their myspace page how inspiring he has been. Max and Chris are still staying strong with their original bands, working on new albums and new tours. I haven't heard much of Saves The Day, but Say Anything is one of my favorites. Their songs are very clever and are comical. "Wow! I Can Get Sexual Too" will always have me laughing. Max Bemis is now focusing mostly on Say Anything, but Two Tongues is still working on new tracks for their next CD.

An Album To Remember

Today, A Day To Remember released their new album, Homesick. Homesick is the band's third album since they were discovered in Ocala, Florida. The song "The Downfall Of Us All" that was released on their myspace earlier this month is included in this album. I woke up especially early this morning to go on iTunes and order Homesick, I've listened to the album at least five times today and I'm in love. A Day To Remember is going on tour with The Devil Wears Prada, Sky Eats Airplane, and Emarosa. They are playing at the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale on March 24 (hopefully I'll be there). When their tour is finished in May, they will have some down time before starting up Warped Tour 2009 in the summer.

Cobra Starship will soon be traveling the states with Fall Out Boy, Metro Station, All Time Low, and Hey Monday on the Believers Never Die Tour (part deux). Unfortunately, the closest they are coming to the Ft. Lauderdale area is Boca Raton. Cobra Starship is produced by the lead singer of Fall Out Boy, Patrick Stump and he is featured in some songs including Guilty Pleasure. Gym Class Hero's Travis McCoy is also included in the some songs such as Kiss My Sass and Snakes On A Plane. The entire Fueled By Ramen Records family meshes together, so if you like one band, you'll like them all. Gabe Saporta, lead singer, always gets the audience pumped up and whenever I see them at a show I am in awe. I'm absolutely obsessed with this band and everything they do. I plan on ordering the Kiss My Sass Vinyl album and treasuring it forever. Are there any bands you would give anything to see again?

Chili Cookoff

I'm usually not a fan of country music, with the exception of Kenny Chesney, but I am regretting not getting tickets to this year's biggest country show. The most famous stars of the radio station 99.9 Kiss Country come together and play a huge concert for one day. The 24th annual Chili Cookoff at CB Smith Park in Pembroke Pines is tomorrow, January 25 at 10:00 in the morning. Cars line up and park on the side of the road hours before the on-site gates open at 6:45 am. The park is usually packed with barely any room to move. Blankets are spread out and chairs are unfolded to lay back for some of the day, because there are no seats out on the field. This year's lineup, in order, is Justin Moore, Little Big Town, Jason Aldean, Jessica Simpson (since when is she considered country?), and Alan Jackson. This all day concert will keep going no matter rain or shine. 2009's Chili Cookoff is sold out, but as most kids say, "Ew, who likes country???"
