Best Night Ever

I'm SO glad we have blogs back. I went to a show last tuesday and I've been DYING to write about how amazing it was. So here goes the story of the best night ever:

Tuesday after school, my friend Stina came over and we studied as much as we could for the exams we had on Wednesday. Unfortunately for me, my only two important classes, English and Anatomy, were the next day. Once five o'clock came, we started to get ready and started to freak out in excitement. I have never been so jumpy in my entire life. My dad drove my brtoher Chance, his friend Danny, Stina, and I to The Culture Room to wait outside. The line was eons long so thank God we had friends in the front that let us cut. Once we got our wristbands and got in, we bought our merch. Emarosa played first and we were standing against a wall listening to them. Next came Sky Eats Airplane and they were so so so good. Up next was A Day to Remember. Stina and I went in the pit for them and it was insane. We got beat up, knocked down, and were sweating like we had just ran five miles in 180 degree weather. Despite the bruises I got and the fact that I couldn't move my neck for a few days, it was the best thing ever. After fifty minutes of amazingness, The Devil Wears Prada came on for another fifty minute set. We stood off to the side with Chance and Danny on this one. I love TDWP so much, I was so happy to finally see them live. We got back to my house at 12:30 and ended up in bed at 1:30 or so after showering. Stina and I both had the best sleep of our lives that night. And I even did well on the tests the next day!

That is my story. I really wish I could turn back time and do the entire thing over again. Honestly, that was the best night of my LIFE.

AND I'M SO SORRY AUBBBBERZ :(

Taste of Chaos ):

The Taste of Chaos tour is tonight. Its right now, actually. I am obviously not there and it's very disappointing. Today a lot of my friends were talking about how there were "only a few more hours until the show!" Oy vey, I really wish I was at Revolution right now. The bands at this years Taste of Chaos are Pierce the Veil, Bring Me The Horizon, Four Year Strong, Thursday, and Cancer Bats. I LOVE Pierce the Veil. I really don't like how my parents don't let me go to concerts on school nights. They tell me I won't wake up in the morning, although I went to plenty of shows last year on school nights. But it's the universal rule that if a kid goes to a show on a school night, they go to school the next morning, no complaints. They let me choose one to go to because there were five I really wanted to buy tickets for, and I chose one that is exactly a week from today. I found out later that is the night before my first and second hour exams. They let me go to that show but not this one!? Hmm...

Well, this years Taste of Chaos tour will be amazing, I already see myspace bulletins about how Pierce the Veil is setting up. Oh look, my friend is calling me from the concert right now, holding the phone up so I can listen to Pierce the Vail playing my favorite song (playing right now). I hate my life.

Fall Out Boy

The whole "Fall Out Boy has sold out, they suck now, blah blah blah" gets really annoying. I read an article on AP (alternative press) Magazine website about the band. A few months ago AP had an issue with FOB on the cover, but there were two versions. There was a Fall Out Bot Sucks version in blue with the band in make up and suits at a party. There was also a Fall Out Boy Rules version in red where it was just a photo of the band playing like they normally would. Fall Out Boy has been getting bashed ever since their album Infinity On High from old fans saying that they've sold out since their From Under The Cork Tree days. I still like FOB, their newest CD, Folie à deux, I haven't really listened to because I just don't like it. I didn't like their first CD either, but I think it's stupid to call them a sell out, they're just making music. Its their job.

Punk Goes Pop Vol. 2

Punk Goes Pop Vol. 2 was released on Tuesday. All the songs were released last week on mtv.com and my little brother's friend's brother somehow burned me the CD, so I got it to enjoy a week early! The Punk Goes series includes bands who do covers of songs of different genres. Punk Goes Pop 2's discography is listed below:

1. Alesana- "What Goes Around..." (Justin Timberlake)
2. Silverstein- "Apologize" (One Republic)
3. August Burns Red- "...Baby One More Time" (Britney Spears)
4. Mayday Parade- "When I Grow Up" (Pussycat Dolls)
5. A Day to Remember- "Over My Head (Cable Car)" (The Fray)
6. Escape the Fate- "Smooth" (Santana feat. Rob Thomas)
7. There For Tomorrow- "Ice Box" (Omarion)
8. Chiodos- "Flagpole Sitta" (Harvey Danger)
9. Bayside- "Beautiful Girls" (Sean Kingston)
10. Breathe Carolina- "See You Again" (Miley Cyrus)
11. The Cab- "Disturbia" (Rihanna)
12. A Static Lullaby- "Toxic" (Britney Spears)
13. Four Year Strong- "Love Song" (Sara Bareilles)
14. Attack Attack!- "I Kissed a Girl" (Katy Perry)

My favorites are Alesana's cover of Justin Timberlake and Mayday Parade's cover of The Pussycat Dolls (what you're listening to). All the other ones are really good too. I'm obsessed with this CD. I feel that some of these songs were made for the bands to cover. Listen to some of them on www.myspace.com/punkgoespop2

Britney Spears!

Last night was her concert with the Pussycat Dolls at the American Airlines Arena. It was so so so so so good. I had a lot of fun. The line to get in was all the way out to the middle of the streets and the arena was completely full. When you walked in, on a screen in the center of the stage was a number you can text and what you text them can show up on the screen, two of mine got on it. I found that very exciting. When the Pussycat Dolls came on, I think I found the meaning of "trashy". They performed very well, but oh boy, they can't go anywhere without their stripper poles huh. When Britney finally came out it was complete madness. There was a recording shown on a screen of a transvestite man who was introducing her for what felt like twenty minutes, building up suspense for her comeback. She opened with her single "Circus". I was happy to see that she also played her old songs, but the only thing I could think of was how this came out when I was in elementary school. When she played "Hit Me Baby One More Time", I think that was the loudest the cheering got. I really cannot get over how great that concert was. Usually I don't go to shows like this, but I had to make an exception for my childhood idol. I love Britney Spears, she'll always be amazing.

Nevershoutnever!

Christofer Drew, singer/songwriter/ guitarist/ukulelist (if that is even a word)/pianist/entire band of Nevershoutnever!, released his single "Happy" recently. Christofer Drew is only a teenager and has already come so far in his music career. Although he had to drop out of high school, his songs are on iTunes and has thousands of fans. He has accomplished a lot so far and he will keep making music for as long as he can. Nevershoutnever! will soon be on tour with We The Kings, Forever The Sickest Kids, and The Cab on the Bamboozle Road Show. They are playing at Revolution on April 15. From what I've heard from other people's opinions on Nevershoutnever!, you either hate him or love him. I love him. Christofer Drew is just an adorable kid and his voice is really soothing, it always puts me in a better mood. He is personal with his fans and always tries to respond the best he can. I really encourage everyone to listen to him, he is amazing. His myspace link is here and his youtube channel (fan channel) is here! (: <3

New Found Glory

It has been three years since we have heard anything new coming from the boys of New Found Glory. Not Without A Fight will be released on March 10 and it is promised to be a classic New Found Glory album. On March 25 they are starting off a tour with Set Your Goals, Bayside, and Verse. Like Blink-182, NFG is a band many people grew up listening to. I'm sure we all know Catalyst and My Friends Over You, my two personal favorites. Not Without A Fight is that band's sixth record since they started in 1997 in the lovely South Florida. The album was produced by Mark Hoppus of Blink-182. The hit single from this album is called Listen To Your Friends (below). Most, if not all of the album is released on their myspace (www.myspace.com/newfoundglory) for everyone to listen to.
